At Children’s Choice, we love the holiday season. And not just the delicious food and time with family. It’s the perfect time for reflection: remembering the challenges you’ve overcome this year, and all the wonderful blessings along the way.
There’s plenty to reflect on this year. You and your family have overcome unprecedented challenges together — school closures, loss of jobs, and general concern for your family’s safety.
At Children’s Choice, our biggest goal for 2020 and 2021 was to make sure we brought your family reliable, affordable access to dental care during hard times. We were able to provide that and more.
As essential workers, we ensured that families across California had access to vital and affordable healthcare — even when schools and other important services were forced to shutter their doors.
The holidays are also an important time to think about what we want to accomplish in the year to come. Let’s take a look back on the wonderful things we were able to accomplish as a community in 2021, and all the ways we hope 2022 will be even better!
Providing Safe Dental Care

While many things were at a standstill during the lockdown, the need for access to dental care certainly wasn’t.
According to the CDC, the need for dental care actually increased during the pandemic.
Dental offices around the world were forced to close, which meant families weren’t only missing out on important routine check-ups but were left in a bind if a dental emergency came up.
Dental care is essential for you and your child’s wellbeing — and so is staying safe while in the waiting room and in the dentist’s chair. Providing pediatric dental care to your children while reducing your family’s risk of harmful germs throughout the pandemic continues to be our top priority.
We’ve been able to keep our doors open and ensure your family has stayed safe and healthy. We’ve been meticulous in making sure our facilities are sanitary and followed all CDC health protocols.
We’ve even been able to autoclave our materials, which is an incredibly effective way to sterilize tools using a special machine used in labs to kill bacteria.
Safety isn’t just limited to kid-friendly masks and sanitized tools, either. We focused on every detail from when you walk into when you exit. Doorknobs were regularly sanitized, sneezeguards were installed in the lobby, and we installed UV cleaners for the air paired with top-notch air purifiers.
We also installed a new ventilation system with suction to eliminate old air and aerosols, reduced office wait times, and our personal favorite: assigned a smile and safety patrol member to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe.
It was worth every bit of effort and attention to detail to see our patients receive the treatment they deserve, and we’re thankful we had the opportunity to stay open and serve our community.
Providing Affordable Access

Many Americans lost their jobs due to the pandemic. We knew that to ensure our patients got the best care possible, we would need to get creative and provide feasible financing options.
Thankfully, making dental care accessible has always been a goal of ours. The past year, our special offers like complimentary X-rays, exams, and dental cleanings really paid off.
We were also thankful to be proud Medi-Cal providers. This meant that low-income families who were hit hardest by the pandemic could receive full services without the costs and confusion that come with many dental insurance plans.
We didn’t stop there! We’re also able to offer financing options like CareCredit and Lending point. Financing options help us set up a comprehensive system for you to pay for dental services through payment plans that are suitable for your needs.
Encouraging Education

In case you haven’t noticed yet, we love to go above and beyond for you and your children.
In 2020, we made sure to help out with things beyond just dental needs. The one that stood out the most? Virtual learning!
When learning went virtual, it was uncomfortable for students, parents, and teachers. Parents added “homeschool teacher” to their list of titles, and there was constantly new technology to navigate. And if you didn’t have Wi-Fi or access to technology, your child was out of luck.
Education is important, so we made sure to provide at least one place where your kids could do homework with reliable Wi-Fi access.
We invite you and your children to show up to their appointment early so they can knock out any school needs they have before they even go in.
To keep the smiles going, we also provide free school supplies. We set up a fun grab bag so that once your child finishes their appointment, they can choose a reward like new pencils, notebooks, colored pencils, and more.
For needs outside our office, we shared this guide on how to navigate educational resources throughout California for free meals, more internet access, and other resources for families.
Looking Forward to 2022

Despite the challenges of the last year, we were able to learn effective ways to help you and your children feel supported and healthy. And we plan to continue to do so!
We look forward to being your dental health partner for next year. Now is a great time to start planning for your children’s dental needs, especially after all those sweet treats over the holidays.
This year, set your child up for dental success by scheduling important checkups that can help prevent painful and expensive procedures.
Remember that beyond checkups, we provide other tried-and-true preventative care services like cleanings, fluoride treatment, and sealants.
We even provide nutritional counseling, so you can take preventative care into your own hands by ensuring your kids have a tooth-friendly diet.
If orthodontics seems to be in your child’s future, we can help with that, too. We partner with Premier Orthodontics to help you ensure your child gets affordable, safe, and thorough orthodontic care.
We’re thankful for many things this year, but most of all we’re thankful for you! If it wasn’t for our patients, we wouldn’t be able to achieve our dreams of helping kids have healthy, confident smiles.
