Dr. Safar is a highly skilled Pediatric Dentist serving the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents. Dr. Safar, also known as “Dr. Sam” grew up in Sunny Southern California. He attended the University of California at Irvine where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Prior to completing his Masters degree at CSU Fullerton, Dr. Sam was accepted to NOVA Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Florida where he completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. While attending NOVA, Dr. Safar knew from the beginning that he had a passion for working with children and decided to become a Pediatric Dentist.
Dr. Sam has always found it extremely important to be involved and active in the community. His proudest moment came when he helped organize the “Special Needs Olympic” events in Miami, FL. There, he was able to help complete dental screenings and consultations for the athletes participating in the “Special Olympics”. For this involvement Dr. Safar was given several achievement awards for his community service.
In addition to four years of dental schooling and completing his two year Pediatric Dental Residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, Dr. Sam also completed a one-year fellowship in Craniofacial Development. Working with a craniofacial team at Joe DiMaggio’s Memorial Hospital for children, he worked side by side with plastic surgeons, speech therapists, and pediatricians, just to name a few. All together, they worked towards keeping a holistic approach to treating craniofacial deformities such as cleft lip and palate.
Dr. Sam graduated his studies with honors. He went on to work in Tampa, FL for a few years before returning home to Southern California with his family of four. After a few years, Dr. Safar relocated to Sacramento in 2014 with his family, and continues to see patients at all Children’s Choice practices in the Greater Sacramento Area.
