Dr. Rohini Rattu, D.D.S., is a highly skilled Diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry serving the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special needs. Dr. Rohini Rattu has grown up on both the east coast as well as the west coast. She was born in upstate New York and later moved to Maryland. When in middle school, her family made the move to Sunny California! When pursuing her college degree, Dr. Rattu decided to stay in northern California and graduated from UC Davis in 2002. She majored in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Medical Microbiology.
Dr. Rattu then decided to pursue an advanced education and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Throughout the four years of dental school, Dr. Rattu held many positions in her class council as well as the council for the entire Columbia University dental school. She became one of the founding students of the Student Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists. She educated the neighborhood parents of Washington Heights with much needed dental education. During dental school, Dr. Rattu realized that the only type of dentistry she would enjoy doing every day of her life is Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Rattu went on to receive a certificate for advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She made the switch from the Yankees to the Red Sox, from the Giants to the Patriots. With all this change, Dr. Rattu was also exposed to many special needs patients, anesthesia cases and a population of children with very low access to dental care. With three different clinic sights set up in the Boston area, she was able to reach out to many of the neighborhoods who would have otherwise been without care.
Dr. Rattu is an active member of the ADA, CDA, American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and the Sacramento District Dental Society. Being a member of these organizations allows her to be aware of major issues and new technology in the field of Pediatric Dentistry.
Married to her college sweetheart, Dr. Rattu and her husband recently welcomed their second born child, Kash Rattu. His older brother, Davin, could not be more happy! The one thing she has never stopped enjoying about the west coast is the weather! However, with that being said, she will always have a place in her heart for the beautiful northeastern winters!
